Jaime Harrison, the head of the Democratic National Committee, responds to ‘Unnamed’ Criticism.
Just hours after a source released a piece revealing the rising conflict between him and White House officials over his position, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison defended himself and fired back at critics on Saturday night.
In the first of eight threaded tweets, Harrison said, “There is a lot of anonymous bulls in politics, but no one can ever claim that I don’t work my ass off for what I believe in.”
According to two people familiar with the matter, Harrison is so dissatisfied with the White House’s limitations on his power that he has pondered resigning before the midterm elections in November.
The source claimed that White House officials want Harrison to travel outside of his home state of South Carolina more for political and fundraising activities.
More than two dozen Democrats, including current and past White House and party leaders, were interviewed for the storey.
The majority of them spoke on the condition of anonymity, and several of them blamed the heightened animosity on President Joe Biden’s poor approval ratings and confused messaging.
According to the storey, Democrats are angry that the White House’s political organisation has failed to provide a consistent message to state parties.
In response to the criticism, Harrison told the source, “My goal is that individuals who have time to engage in the rumour mills and this and that will utilise that energy to register a few more votes.”
Harrison listed several accomplishments as DNC chair in a Twitter thread response, including raising roughly $150 million in 2021 a record for the first year after a presidential election as well as finance meetings in California, New York, Illinois, and Washington, D.C., as well as hundreds of virtual events with state parties.
He mentioned his granddad as stating that criticism isn’t worth voicing if the individual isn’t willing to put their name on it.
“If you expect me to go away or roll into a ball and whimper…you selected the wrong one,” Harrison stated in the final tweet. He went on to say that his main goal is to “upend” the Republican Party.
